Why it is trending
Driving-rules videos are a staple of Chinese car channels, and the question in the title starts arguments. It drew more than 7,000 comments.

What the rules say
| Fire engines on an emergency call | May ignore routes, speed limits and traffic lights when safe; other vehicles and pedestrians must give way (Road Traffic Safety Law, art. 53). Without lights and siren on a call, they get no priority. |
|---|---|
| A school bus stopping for pupils | Pulls in on the right with hazard lights and stop sign. On a one-lane road, traffic behind must stop and may not overtake; on wider roads, its lane and the next lane stop, others slow down. No honking or flashing to hurry it (School Bus Safety Regulations, art. 33). |
| Penalty for not yielding to a school bus | ¥200 fine (art. 52) and 3 points on your licence (down from 6 since April 2022). |
